The chino is the hardest-working pant in any wardrobe. It goes from the office to the weekend without asking you to change. The problem is that most of them are built for a man several centimetres taller than you, which means by the time you've sorted the length, the rise is off, the pockets hang too low, and the taper breaks at the wrong point on your leg.
We went back to the pattern and started over. The Sidelines Slim Tapered Chino was built from scratch for a 5'9" frame. The result is a chino that looks like it was made for you. Because the fit block was.

The Fit
Built from scratch for a 5'9" frame.
The front and back rise adjusted specifically so the waistband sits where it should, the angled side pockets open at the right position on your hip, and the back welt pockets land cleanly across the seat. The taper runs from thigh through knee through calf in the right proportions, finishing with a clean leg opening that works with everything from sneakers to dress shoes.
The Fabric
98% Cotton, 2% Elastane premium stretch cotton twill with a peached soft hand feel.
The finish is deliberately understated. Smooth, matte, and refined rather than stiff or waxy. The stretch content is present but subtle, giving the fabric genuine ease of movement without compromising the clean lines of the silhouette. Pre-shrunk for a consistent fit wash after wash.
The Construction
Heavy mercerised topstitching thread, colour-matched to the garment throughout.
Side angled pockets positioned precisely for the fit block, with a clean opening angle that sits flush against the hip.
Back welt pockets with neat bartack application at each end. Pocket position engineered to sit correctly on the seat for this build.
100% cotton pocket bag lining, colour-matched.
Bartacking at all key stress points.
Double-turned leg hem with single needle stitch.
YKK metal flip lock zip in gunmetal finish.
Spare button included with each pair.
All metal trims are nickel and lead free, with no sharp edges.
